Edward Tang

Head of Outdoor Media, Integrated Marketing,
Singapore Press Holdings

Edward is currently Head of Outdoor Media in the Integrated Marketing division of Singapore Press Holdings. He spearheads the development and acquisition of Out-of-Home (OOH), advertising products and has, together with his team, build up a strong suite of digital and non-digital OOH solutions island-wide to meet advertisers’ needs. These solutions range from large format LED displays in the CBD to traditional billboards in Orchard Road, Marina Bay Financial Centre and major commercial hubs. Edward is a keen and passionate advocate for greater relaxation of regulations by the government to enable the local OOH media industry to thrive and prosper.

Prior to his current position, Edward was a journalist for eight years with the Straits Times' Foreign Desk, of which six were spent in the newspaper's overseas bureau in Bangkok, as its Thailand Correspondent reporting on major developments in the country and the Indochina region. Among the key developments he reported on during his watch were the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997, which had its birthplace in Thailand, political upheavals and leadership changes and notable economic milestones in Thailand and neighboring countries; Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar.

He started his career in the Foreign Service as Country Officer for Japan and China. He was stationed overseas as First Secretary in the Singapore High Commission in India as well as the Singapore Embassy in Thailand. He was also briefly Deputy Director in the Communications and International Relations Division of the then Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports.
