Managing Partner, Asia-Pacific Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), Ernst & Young
Chiang Joon-Arn (J.A.) is based in Singapore and is EY's Asia-Pacific Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Managing Partner. The FAAS practice comprises of professionals who serve as advisors, both practical and innovative, helping clients address accounting and financial reporting challenges.
J.A.'s extensive experience includes providing accounting advisory services to international and local entities, which include GAAP conversions, accounting for complex transactions in various sectors, tax restructurings and arbitrations between disputing companies. J.A. features regularly at seminars, trainings and has been invited to speak at conferences organized by accounting bodies, relating to Singapore FRS, IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
J.A. is also an audit partner for companies listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ.
Prior to his current role, he was the Singapore Capital Markets Leader and has wide experience with SEC Rule 144A and Regulation S transactions. J.A. was also the local EY focal point for negotiations and discussions with investment banks and attorneys and was also part of the Asia-Pacific Area’s US GAAP and IFRS technical consultation process which interfaced with EY’s global policy setters.
During his technical residency with the EY New York Capital Market Center, J.A. was part of the US National Office, reviewing US Securities and Exchange filings by Foreign Private Issuers to ensure US GAAP, US and PCAOB GAAS and SEC compliance.
As EY's Asia-Pacific FAAS leader, J.A. sees the urgent need to be a catalyst for change to create a holistic client experience, helping businesses work better by helping their finance organizations to work better.
